How to Apply

Safety First

Personal protection: As with any paint product you must ensure there is good ventilation and that you wear safety glasses and gloves.

Storage: Store in a dry well ventilated area away from sources of ignition and direct sunlight.

To achieve the best results good preparation is important.  Please also ensure you have enough time to follow the process correctly and to allow the paint to dry thoroughly before use.

For all floors

If you simply paint the floor with no preparation the floor will look good initially but it is likely to flake and come off with exposure to traffic. Ensure all areas are clean, sound, dry and free from all dust, dirt, loose and flaking material, and general surface contamination. All oils, grease and other contaminants, etc. should be removed with our degreasing solution.

For New Concrete

New concrete must be allowed to fully dry before painting. A rule-of-thumb guide is to allow 1 month of drying time for every inch of concrete laid - for example 6 months for 6 inches of concrete. Once dry you then need clean thoroughly with our degreasing solution and then apply the etch primer which ensures a longer lifespan because the paint bonds and penetrates into the surface better.

Smooth Concrete

You need to clean thoroughly with our degreasing solution and then apply our etch primer.

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Sweep up the loose debris and dust.
  2. Ensure the floor is free from grease and oil. If you have any doubt then clean using our degreaser and allow to dry.
  3. If it is a concrete floor and it is under 2 years old, or the concrete has a very smooth finish then you next need to apply the etch primmer. If in doubt then do this stage anyway and allow to dry.
  4. Apply the floor paint with a good quality brush or roller and leave to dry over night. Ensure the area is well ventilated.
  5. Apply the second coat and allow to dry throughly. Avoid running heavy objects over the floor for as long as possible to allow it to fully harden.
  6. The floor is now ready to use.
